Bio

Damiano Cerrone was born in Italy. He studied Urban Planning and G.I.S. at Sapienza University of Rome. Thanks to the time he spent working as assistant for the Urban Planning department director, also carrying out field work, he specialized in urban analysis and urban/landscape planning strategies. After studying in Tallinn as an Erasmus student, he decided to stay in order to merge the technical skills acquired in Italy with a more academic/methodological programme based in Estonia, looking for the most sensible balance. At the same time he carried on a professional activity as photographer, showing his works in several solo exhibitions and keeping vivid his photographic skills to be used as tool for understanding the city. Currently he works as research assistant at Urban Studies dept. of Estonian Academy of Arts, involved in the EUREGIO international research project “Helsinki Tallinn transportation and planning scenario”. He  is currently lecturer of Urban Analysis and Planning Tools as well as leading an independent research project for the design of more accessible cities based on Space Syntax and GIS based analysis.
